Les Films de Jeremy
The Day After Peace est le dernier film documentaire primé de Jeremy Gilley, fondateur et Président de Peace One Day. Produit en collaboration avec la BBC et Passion Pictures, le film a obtenu les droits de diffusion dans 96 pays et a été présenté à des festivals de cinéma et lors de projections publiques spéciales dans 74 pays.
Le troisième film de Jeremy, en cours de production, doit faire l´objet de sept transmissions sur BBC World pendant le week-end des 18 et 19 septembre 2010 dans 200 pays. Produit par Jeremy et Jude Law, ce troisième film met en scène les progrès extraordinaires accomplis par La Journée de la Paix depuis 2007 et annonce le quatrième film de Jeremy, qui sera présenté lors de la Journée de la Paix 2012, sur toile de fond des Jeux olympiques de Londres.
Jeremy Gilley était acteur avant de créer Peace One Day en 1999. Il avait perdu ses illusions sur son travail, mais comprenait que le film peut affecter véritablement les individus et créer un changement dans le monde. Ainsi quand il s´est engagé dans cette mission quasi impossible en 1999, il a pris une caméra avec lui. Chaque voyage fait, chaque pays visité et chaque personne rencontrée - il les filmait. Dix ans plus tard, The Day After Peace est son histoire - l'histoire de Peace One Day.
Au sujet de The Day After Peace
The Day After Peace dresse la carte de l´exceptionnel voyage de dix ans qu´a fait le réalisateur primé Jeremy Gilley pour établir une Journée annuelle de la Paix le 21 septembre. La caméra suit Jeremy pendant qu'il parcourt les pays du monde pour les amener à reconnaître une journée officielle de cessez-le-feu et de non violence.
Mais même après l´adoption à l´unanimité par les États membres de l'ONU de La Journée de la Paix, la lutte n'est pas terminée. Car si les années passent, il n'y a pas l'ombre d'un cessez-le-feu. Les voix des cyniques crient plus fort - et maintenant l'association à but non lucratif de Gilley, Peace One Day, est en grande difficulté financière. Mais il ne peut pas l´abandonner.
La conclusion impressionnante du film montre Gilley rejoint par Jude Law en Afghanistan, pour essayer d'être le fer de lance d'une vaccination massive contre la poliomyélite lors de La Journée de la Paix. La paix régnera-t-elle ? Les vies seront-elles sauvées ? Ou les cyniques avaient-ils raison ?
The Day After Peace est un témoignage émouvant de la puissance de l'individu et de la persévérance de l'esprit humain.
