Richard E. Grant

Richard E Grant is a British-Swazi actor, screenwriter, and director who came to public attention in 1987 for playing Withnail in the cult hit Withnail and I, and achieved international recognition as John Seward in the 1992 blockbuster Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Furthermore, Richard has appeared in numerous films and television programs including: Gosford Park, The Iron Lady, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Jack & Sarah, L.A. Story, The Hound Of The Baskervilles andHorrid Henry. In 2005 he wrote and directed his first major release, Wah-Wah, which was loosely based on his own childhood experiences. Grant has since written a novel called By Design that is set in Hollywood.

Richard studied drama at Cape Town University where he co-founded the Troupe Theatre Company. He moved to London in 1982 and worked in theatre until he got his big break with Withnail and I in 1986.
